A New Outlook for 2010
Lets put 2009 behind us, and move on to 2010. I don't have anything against 2009, it was a pretty good year for me personally, but I'm going to make 2010 even better. Now is that time when I look back at the current year and pull out all the achievements and failures. And this year there were plenty of both.
Looking back and learning from the past is important, however moving forward and planing for the future is even more important. That's why starting today, my goal as well as the content for this blog is changing. There is going to be only one theme, and that's "BECOME MY OWN BOSS".
No more working for the man. Nope, I'm going to put every effort into my other ventures and see if I can sustain my lifestyle without a "real" job. Here's how I plan to do it.
Over the past few years, I've started various businesses, either online or via traditional avenues. During this time, I've always had a job. Yes, a real job where I go to work, spend 8 hours doing it, then come home and work on my side projects. The problem with this model is that the time I spend during the day is trading dollars for hours. I enjoy doing my side projects, it gives me a sense of accomplishment, my day job doesn't. This is precisely why I want to "KILL MY DAY JOB", and work for myself doing what I want to do.
You might be asking: "What is the goal?" Here's how I'll answer that, and it's very simple. I want to be in a position at this time next year, where I can tell my current employer that I no longer desire to work with people whom don't value my existence. Which isn't entirely true, my immediate team consists of a group of highly talented, professional and caring individuals who I'm sure would be happy for me to get away from the corporate rat race. When you work for a company that still gives a pension it's rather hard to walk away for some, not me I desire happiness and self worth.
So the goal is simple. Replace my income with the business that I already have, document my findings here, and see where it takes me. I've decided to use this blog in a totally different way. The objective for this blog, is to simply not my every move. Maybe there is someone else out there in my same predicament, or someone looking to try the same thing I already tried. Whatever the case may be, this is where I'm going to be on a daily basis.
Yes you read that right, by this time next year, there better be at least 365 posts (at least one per day) or I have failed to provide the content I see necessary. There may be a day or two along the way where I miss (hey life happens), but I plan to make up for it in the end. More importantly, at least in my opinion is the section of the site where I report the numbers. I will be breaking it down in excruciating detail as to where the money is coming in from and how I went about getting that money. It's all going to be here, and if for some reason you can't find what your looking for, just ask. So now it's off to start generating some income. I hope you stay with me on this journey and if you have a suggesting for me, please feel free to comment or let me know.
