Monetizing Your Content With Ads
You have created that wonderful website, and your designer has designed you a great "blog", and you have now curled up with your laptop and started writing content that everyone is going to enjoy reading. But wait! How will you make money with all the hard work that you've put into your blog? How will advertisers find me? How much should I charge?
Never fear, there is a simple solution that you can use that takes all the guess work out of monetizing your content. The answer you seek is Google Adsense, and if you haven't heard of it before, it might just be the key component you need to generate a few extra dollars of income for the content on your website.
The best part about Adsense is that anyone can do it, on just about any blogging platform on the planet. In fact if your platform doesn't allow it, then you should probably think about changing platforms. Google has figured out a way to match their ads to the content on your website. This gives you the maximum clicks without annoying your visitors. If you write about dogs and cats, you sure don't want ads showing up for real estate agents now do you?
Google also gives you the ability to change the way the ad looks on your site. You can change the way the corners appear (rounded or square), the colors of the text and links as well as the background color. There are many different sizes and orientations to which you can create your ads as well. When it comes to different sizes and colors to match your website, the possibilities are almost endless.
Once you have Adsense all setup, all you have to do is provide quality content and bring in the traffic. Easy right? In the next few posts we'll cover how to setup a "Blogger" site for those that don't know how to do it, and add Adsense to it to start generating income.
