Some Sites Can Mislead
So I'm on Twitter checking some of the urls that people have tweeted to me, and I come across one that's rather interesting. The title read something like "How you can make $50 a day", or something to that effect. Since I want to know about all the avenues to make money online, I check it out to see what the buzz is all about.
The very first line of the website, should have tipped me off to something right away.
Vinefire is an experiment...a work in progress. Fun, profitable, exciting.
Ok, I can deal with an experiment, as long as it's fun and exciting. So I kept reading down the page and liked what I was hearing. It basically paid you for clicking on links, or adding links and voting on links. I've heard of deals like this before, but the amount of time that it takes to do this really isn't worthwhile, but I continued to read to see if there is some hidden problem with why I might not get paid after wearing out my mouse and fingers with clicks.
At the bottom of the page I found the hidden gem I was looking for. There is a section titled "When will I get paid?", and the answer to this highly anticipated question is:
he first payment is scheduled to be sent January 31, 2010. After that, we will begin sending weekly payments to all members.Better yet, the reasoning behind it follows:
Vinefire is currently in "beta" mode. That means that we are testing to make sure the site will be profitable in a long-term way before we begin sending regular payments. Committing to regularly scheduled payments too early could cause the website to collapse before it really gets a chance to get started.
I don't know about you, but any business that expects me to work and not get paid is crazy. The whole beta thing scares me too, but what really scares me is the fact that there are probably a lot of people signing up and not realizing they aren't going to get paid. For me I'll wait until they start passing out checks.
If your pants are on fire to start generating cash that "might" get paid to you next year, then go right ahead and get in line.
